Nature Sense contains 100% freshly harvested and naturally pure buds, herbs and plant parts in organic quality from the Alpine region, Sardinia, Sicily and other Italian locations. In addition to extracts of buds (gemmo-macerates), Nature Sense also utilises the healing effect of mother tinctures as complex remedies in some products.

The buds contain the most valuable ingredients in great variety and highest concentration. Gemmotherapy (gemma = Latin for bud) harnesses this elemental power of plants as a healing and regenerative force for us: all Nature Sense complex remedies are made exclusively from fresh plant parts and buds (gemmo). As a matter of principle, dried plant parts are not used for mother tinctures, as the effect, nutrient diversity, nutrient density and energetic properties are significantly lower than those of freshly harvested plant parts.

We also use the tried and tested UMH technology to activate the solutions (water-alcohol-glycerine) in order to extract the valuable ingredients from the buds and plant parts. The effects and effects on a material and energetic level thus reach a higher level in the holistic view.

Nature Sense‘s complex remedies mainly contain mixtures of bud extracts and mother tinctures that have been specially selected according to themes, indications and synergistic effects. Instead of focussing on individual substances, Nature Sense focuses on the diversity of thousands of ingredients and bioactive substances contained in each plant.

Awakening new life with the unique power of buds

Gemmotherapy is a special form of herbal medicine. It utilises the highly concentrated nutrient density and concentrated vitality of buds and young shoots to promote our health in all areas. In contrast to fully developed plants, which have already developed a variety of protective mechanisms against predators and have used up their growth substances, the buds contain all the important nutrients in the highest concentration and range to enable new life and growth. This is because they need them for the rapid and complete development of their leaves, flowers and fruiting bodies. All buds are rich in concentrated active ingredients such as phytohormones, secondary plant substances, vital substances, enzymes, minerals, trace elements, amino acids, vitamins and essential oils. And we can utilise their elemental power, as they strengthen all bodily functions, including DNA and cell regeneration processes, and offer a nutrient density that can hardly be found anywhere else. The buds are, so to speak, the embryonic tissue from which all other parts of the plant develop.

Gemmotherapy: Nutrient diversity and vital energy from the bud

Nature Sense only uses fresh plant parts, herbs or buds in organic quality. This is because all the active ingredients of later developed leaves, flowers, fruits, bark and roots are contained in the buds in a highly concentrated form. It is therefore particularly important that they are harvested at the optimum time: the buds should no longer be fully closed, as this means they are too young. They should also not be too wide open, i.e. the leaves should not be peeking out, as this would be very late. When a small green tip appears, then the ideal harvest time has been reached: just before the bud opens properly, it contains the concentrated power – the energy and dynamism before it unfolds and opens completely. In order not to disturb the balance of nature, only a few of the possible and available buds should be harvested.

These principles are observed and followed in the production of Nature Sense‘s complex remedies. Because a sustainable harvest pays off. After harvesting, the buds are immediately placed in the UMH activated and energised solvent (water-alcohol-glycerine mixture) in order to extract and preserve the ingredients.

Processing of the buds

The bud extracts (macerates) are produced using the maceration process. This method dissolves volatile ingredients from plant-based raw materials. For this purpose, the chopped plant parts are doused with a water-glycerine-alcohol solution. This extract must be stored at room temperature for a few weeks and moved regularly. Nature Sense only uses violet glass bottles for bottling in order to preserve the valuable ingredients and plant energies in the best possible way. The shelf life is at least three years.
